Coach Carly Gonzales, BS, CSCS
Carly received a scholarship to play competitive D1 softball at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and Wellness. During her time at UTM, she found a strong interest in fitness and a passion for assisting others to reach their goals. Since college, she has continued her education by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Along her fitness career, she has also had extensive experience in leadership, team coaching, and personal training.
Her goals are to develop competent individuals in resistance training/athletic performance, as well as, build self-confidence within her clients.
When she is not coaching, Carly enjoys spending time with her family/friends, weightlifting, snowboarding, and taking her dog, Kilo, to the beach.
Coach Derrick Nguyen, PT, DPT, CSCS
Derrick excelled at high school football and track & field and was a Division I rugby player for the University of California, Irvine. His passion for sports and performance eventually led him to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California, a perennially top 5 physical therapy program. While at USC, he also acquired his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
His extensive education and credentialing, along with first hand understanding of athletic performance and demands of sport, allows him to harmoniously integrate the principles of strength and conditioning into his rehabilitation and vice versa, providing athletes a unique, multidisciplinary approach to rehab and performance.
He takes pride in establishing connections with his athletes and patients, helping empower them and bestowing a sense of physical and mental resiliency in them to allow them to be the best version of themselves.
